GONZALES -- James Ferminio Gonzales, age 63, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather brother and friend, completed his journey on this earth and entered into Eternal Life with the Lord, Tuesday, January 25, 2011. He was a life long resident of Placitas, NM, where he was a mayordomo of the Acequias de Placitas for eight years. James was a proud Veteran who served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam war. He enjoyed volunteering and spending time with the folks at Casa Rosa. James will be remembered as a kind and helpful person who was loved by millions. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Lugardita Gonzales; his sister, Debbie Martinez; and his brother Ernest Gonzales. James is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Theresa Gonzales; his wonderful daughters, Angela Gonzales, Melissa Gonzales and companion Kelly Nelson; three precious grandchildren, Natory, Troy and Angelo; his siblings, Lucille Acosta and husband Martin, Michael Gonzales and Micky Jiron, Benito Gonzales, Christopher Gonzales and wife Mary Ann; his uncle Sonny Duran and wife Rose; and many other relatives and friends. James will be greatly missed by all. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m., also at the Church. Inurnment will follow at the Placitas Catholic Cemetery.
