DAVIS -- Ida Belle Hogsett Davis, 77, of Albuquerque, NM, passed on January 21, 2011 at Kaseman In-patient Hospice. Ida Belle was born Nov. 20, 1933 in Magdalena, NM to Joseph Calvin & Clara Ortense Woods Hogsett. Ida Belle was a supportive and loving spouse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to being a homemaker, Ida Belle worked as a book-keeper, dental technician, administrative assistant and pastoral counselor. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church Albuquerque and Past Matron of Adah Chapter 5 of OES. Symbolic of her lifelong passion for working with children, in 2002 she received the Grand Cross of Color from the Rainbow Girls for her outstanding work with young women. Ida Belle was the family historian and loved to tell stories about her life on the Ranch. Ida Belle was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Thomas Sr.; sons, Thomas Jr. and wife Melanie, and Robert. She was known as Grandma by Christie Davis, Caroline Davis, Joseph Davis, Hope Vogel, John Thompson, Scott Josephson and Seth Josephson. Madison and Eleanor Vogel knew her as Gee Gee. She is survived by sisters Naomi Haynes and husband Gene and Barbara Adams and husband Burl. She was beloved by numerous nephews, nieces and special friend Sharon Carpenter. Services will be Saturday January 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., the First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE, Albuquerque, NM. A reception will follow. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ballut Abyad Shrine Children's Transportation Fund, 6600 Zuni SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108.
