VAN COURT -- James Fenton Van Court, 89, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Penny Redmon and husband, Mike; sons, Terry Van Court and Daniel Van Court and wife, Francine; grandchildren, Michele, Michael, Nikki, James, Matthew, Andrew, Hannah and Amanda; and great-grandchildren, Megan, Samantha, Dusty, Francesca, India, Stephanie and Caitlin. James was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ruth Van Court; his wife, Viola Van Court; and his son, James R. Van Court. James served in the US Army during WWII, and owned his own trucking company and a farm in Richmond, OH. He was a Boy Scout leader for many years and also a member of the local Masonic Lodge. He loved to fly small airplanes and his grandson, who he called "co-pilot", learned under the same instructor. James was a member of the Richmond Methodist Church and later became a member of Monterey Baptist Church in Albuquerque. After moving to Albuquerque, James worked for Consolidated Freightways. Memorial services are pending for Friday, January 14, 2011 at The Village Inn Restaurant, 6300 San Mateo Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, 87109, where James was known as "Diamond Jim" and was loved by both staff and customers. A memorial service will also be held on January 21, 2011 at the Jefferson United Methodist Church in Ohio, with Fleming Funeral Home assisting the family. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson, OH. Lovingly Pre-planned at FRENCH 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400
