SIMS -- Archie M. Sims, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. He was born in New Augusta, Mississippi on April 21, 1922 to James E. and Laura A. (Lambert) Sims. Archie served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps with the 4th Combat Cargo Group on the Ledo Road in Burma. He was with the New Mexico Air Guard in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam in 1968 and retired from the "Enchilada Air Force" in 1982. Archie was a 32nd degree Mason for over 50 years and was a member of Temple Lodge 6 and Ballut Abyad Shrine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen. Archie is survived by his son, Andrew; daughter-in-law, Heidi; and daughter, Andrea and her husband, Robert Stone; He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kelly Rojas, Justin Sims, and Aaron Sims; and a great-grandson, Aaron Rojas. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 at French - University, starting at 10:15 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
