PAYNICH -- Albert G. Paynich, 92 year old, passed away peacefully at his home on November 24, 2010. A veteran of WWII, he proudly served on the European theater. Ever faithful, he was an active member of Fellowship Harvest Assembly of God, the American Legion and John Birch societies. Born to John and Louise Chopp Paynich, he was born near Calumet MI on April 23, 1918, and moved to Bisbee, AZ shortly before the war. He married Margaret Jones, a Bisbee native, during the war, and they had one son, Allan. After his wife died in 1963, he married Laurel Avery Diehl, of Bisbee. An electrician for 42 years in Phelps Dodge copper mines in Bisbee and Tyrone, NM, Albert retired to this area 17 years ago. He is survived by Laurel, Allan; and three step-daughters: Lucy Ann of NM, Marian Otis and Janet Powell of Phoenix. Evening viewing is December 1, 2010 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Daniels Family Funerals, 9420 N. 4th St; the service at Harvest Fellowship, 5331 Monanto Rd., December 2, 2010 at 11:30, followed by burial in the national cemetery, Santa Fe at 2:30. A donation to the American Legion or your favorite charity would be favored over flowers.
