FRIEDE -- Sharon Anne (Shay), 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, died October 13, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie; her son and his wife and children David, Janine, Nathan and Natalie Friede of Bentonville, AR; and daughter and her husband and son Susan, Ned and Trevor Kirch of Albuquerque. She is also survived by two sisters, Kaye Weingart, Rita Berzins; and a brother, Bill Cunningham, all from Denver, CO, as well as many other relatives and friends. Shay was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Cunningham in 1999. Shay was born on September 6, 1938 in Fairbury, Nebraska. After their marriage in 1960, Shay worked as a registered nurse in Denver, Colorado until she moved to New Mexico in 1973. She worked as a volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital and then became President of the Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary. Later, she was in charge of the Presbyterian Northside Auxiliary and enjoyed singing in the choir at the Church of the Risen Savior. Shay loved gardening, the ocean, traveling, photography and especially her grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always so thoughtful to those around her. Her sudden departure leaves a grief that will require a great deal of healing. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at French ~ Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 9:00 a.m., with a reception immediately following at Tanoan Country Club.
