PADILLA -- STEVE PADILLA Resident of Northern New Mexico passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010, in Santa Fe at the age of 67. Steve lived in Chama but loved all New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jemelle S. (Jamie) Padilla; and his father, Frank (Pancho) Padilla; his best buddy. He is survived by his mother, Helen R. Padilla; his sisters: Frances Marquez, Dolores, Marshall, Marianne and Roger Tapia and Linda Fay; numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Elaine McKim; brother-in-law, Michael Medina and his wife Naomi and their daughter, Paris. Steve loved hunting and fishing all his life and shared this love with his young nephews Steve served on the NM Game and Fish Commission appointed by both democrat and republican governors. He also spent countless hours lobbying in the New Mexico Legislature for his special causes. Steve was a very caring person. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Friday, October 1, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at the Garrett's Desert Inn Banquet Room, 311 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
