CAVALLO -- Sulema V. Cavallo, age 87, a long time resident of Santa Fe and currently residing in Bowling Green Kentucky, completed her journey in this life on Thursday September 2, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucia and Jose E. Valdez; her husband Celio Cavallo; brothers Jose Ramon, Bernardino, and Daniel Valdez; mother-in-law Presciliana Salazar; and brother-in-law Joe Cavallo. She is survived by her daughters, Josina M. Sanchez, husband Nonnie of Rio Rancho, NM, Barbara Eva Powell, husband Bruce of Bowling Green Kentucky, and Priscilla Martinez, husband Abel, of Vadito NM; her five grandchildren: Clarissa and Brian Martinez, Katrina Powell, Nevada and Angelina Sanchez; sisters-in-law Lugarda Valdez of Ojo Caliente, NM and Margaret Cavallo Lee of Ontario, CA. She is also survived by numerous other loving relatives and friends. Sulema loved to pray the rosary and attend mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parrish in Santa Fe, NM. She was a very loving kind and caring mother always willing to help others. She was also a wonderful mother to her three daughters. She loved all her family very much. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Nonnie Sanchez, Bruce Powell, Abel Martinez Jr., Brian Martinez, Elmo Garcia, Paul Marquez, Edward Mignardot and Mitchell Leblanc Jr. If you wish memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104 The family of Sulema V.
