NAVALESI -- Bruno D. Navalesi was born in Walsenburg, Colorado on January 16, 1924 to Vinzie and Joe Navalesi, who precede him in death; His brother, Henry, also preceded him in death. Bruno is survived by his wife of 62 years, Merle; his three sons, Joseph and wife Cheryl, John, and Gery and wife Raylene; and one daughter, Dena Pruitt and husband Olin; His is also survived by several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; as well as one brother, Gene and wife Nadine; and two sisters, Theresa Campagnola and Mary Cito and husband Frank. Bruno served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Asian and Pacific area. After using the G.I. Bill, he graduated from college in business administration with a degree in accounting. He worked eight years as an accountant and office manager for an ice cream plant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He retired from Sandia National Labs as a Budget and Computer System Analyst after 29 years of service. Bruno was a 4th degree and life member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served as an usher, an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist for the homebound, and a Stephen Minister. Bruno dedicated his life to the service of his family and the Church. A rosary will be prayed on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will take place at St. Peter Catholic Church, 55 N. Jefferson St., Monument, CO 80132. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Peter's Church.
