LOPEZ -- Rita J. Lopez, age 81, passed away from complications on Sunday, May 23, 2010, while a patient at Kindred Hospital. Rita was born October 8, 1928 and was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. She worked for many years as a cook at the Alvarado Hotel, Hilton, Double Tree and LaPosada Hotels. She also worked at the Isotopes Stadium. She is survived by her two sisters, Margaret Pena and husband Fred and Georgia Sena; special nieces, Lorraine Chavez, Jane Ramirez and husband Michael, Grace Pacheco, Betty Stage, Kinnie Sanchez, Viola Aldridge and Priscilla Sena; special great-nieces, JennaMarie, Georgia Herrera and Hacinta Sena; special nephews, John Pacheco and Jimmy Sena; several godchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. We will always be inspired by her courage, strength and faith. Services will be held at San Jose Catholic Parish, 2401 Broadway SE. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Isaiah Valencia, Adrian Chavez, Fernando and Francisco Reyes, Jimmy Serna, Francisco Aldridge and Todd Scott.
