SAAVEDRA -- Raymond "Ray" J. Saavedra, 48, a resident of Los Lunas, NM for the past six years, died in a fatal roll-over on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Vivian; six children, Dominic ,Jolene , Susan, Vivian, Christopher, and Jennifer; three grandchildren, Victoria, Natalie, and Michael; mother, Veronica Saavedra; siblings, Annette Francia and husband, Richard, Seniada Saavedra, Joseph Saavedra, and Loretta Herrera and husband, Ray; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ray was born on November 20, 1961 in Albuquerque where he graduated from Valley High School. He has worked for Albertsons for several years as a baker/pastry chef. Ray was a humorous, loving, thoughtful and generous man who always put his family first before all else. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends and family may visit French -University Chapel, Monday, April 19, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Services will be held at Calvary Chapel Rio Grande Valley, 19381 Highway 314, Belen, NM on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Clemente Cemetery in Los Lunas, NM.
