CHAVEZ -- Isidro Chavez Sr., 89, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2010, after a long illness. He was born February 26, 1921. He retired from General Electric and served his country during WWII. He loved his music and was the oldest living Mariachi in New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vicki T. Chavez, daughter, Barbara Calderon, son, Edward Chavez, granddaughter, Victoria Quintana, parents, Estanislado and Julianita Chavez, and four brothers. He is survived by his children, Patricia Quintana and husband, George, Cathy Martinez and husband, Herman Sr., Arlene Portillo, Isidro Chavez Jr., Doris Sedillo and husband, Gilbert, Charlie Chavez; 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was a member of San Jose Parish for many years. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Parish with viewing one hour prior. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 11, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Parish with interment of follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Calderon, Paul Sedillo, Mark Quintana, Eddie Rael, Mario Portillo, and Angela Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stanley Gutierrez, Luis Jaramillo, Robert Martinez, Ray Perez, Carlos Calderon, Danny Calderon, Joseph Quintana, Maggie Chavez, Herman Martinez Jr., Michelle Rael, Elizabeth Gallegos, Valerie Valdez, Tony Chavez, Theresa Salgado, Anita Salgado, Michael Sedillo, Curtis Chavez and Christopher Chavez.
