ELLIOTT -- Richard C. Elliott, 72, of Vail, Arizona passed away peacefully on February 15, 2010 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. During his career as an architect, Richard worked in California, New Mexico, and Virginia. Richards benevolence and compassion for others was continually demonstrated in his work for youth as a Project Manager for the Department of Labor Job Corps. In retirement, he continued to serve his community as a member of the YMCA Board of Directors in Arizona. An avid bicyclist, Richard enjoyed riding along the west coast and in the annual Tour de Tucson event. Richard shared his joy and love for nature, exploring, hiking, and camping with his family. The Colorado Plateau was one of his favorite places to explore with the love of his life, Patricia. Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Elliott; his children, Eddie Elliott (Megan), Sharon Gilbert (Brian), Andrea Nowell (John), Raymond Elliott (Teri), Cathy Price (David), and Kenny Collins (Peggy). Richard was a loving grandfather to his 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Elliott; father, Albert Elliott; and daughter, Katherine Linden. He will be deeply missed by all who love him. Visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2010, 4:00-7:00 p.m., at Pacific Beach Mortuary, 4710 Cass St., San Diego, CA 92109 with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Old Town, 2540 San Diego Avenue, San Diego, CA 92110.
