WILSON -- Demaris "Dee" Wilson, age 94 of Albuquerque; formerly of the Los Angeles and Oxnard areas, peacefully passed away on February 6, 2010, at her home; she was surrounded by her loving family who were blessed to share in her final journey. Dee retired from the Health Care industry; where she dedicated herself to providing nutritious meals to those in need. She also volunteered with various veterans organizations throughout the years. While living in California Dee was a longstanding member of the Moose Lodge, where she served as, among other things, Senior Regent. Locally, she enjoyed her membership to the Palo Duro Senior Center, where she socialized and played bingo. Dee loved to travel; Las Vegas and Laughlin were two of her favorite places; she went every chance she could; when Dee moved to New Mexico four years ago, she found the same enjoyment in the Isleta casino. It took only two minutes of knowing her before you would fall in love with her; she leaves behind hearts filled with joy and love. Dee was considered everyone's grandma; and it was no surprise that she affectionately earned the nickname "Grandma Dee" by everyone that met her. Grandma Dee is survived by her children, Ray (Rose) Wilson, Dorothy Coverston, Donna (Bill) Genter, Richard Wilson and Debi (Jim) Espinoza, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and her sister, Esther Easton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Wilson and four brothers. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 2pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel. Inurnment will take place in Valhalla Cemetery, North Hollywood, California. If you would like to make a charitable donation that was dear to Grandma Dee, you may donate to the Special Olympics.
