ROSS -- Evelyn M. (nee Keith) Ross, 92, of Hyannis, Massachusetts and Rio Rancho, New Mexico, died Thursday, February 4, 2010. She was the wife of the late Donald T. Ross for 57 years and the mother of the late Peter Ross. She lived her early life in Marblehead, MA. She graduated from Marblehead High School in 1936 and earned her Registered Nurse degree from Salem Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. After marrying Donald in 1941, she moved to Arlington, MA. After raising her family, she returned to part-time nursing in 1959. With her husband, she enjoyed travel and cruises. She and her husband retired in 1977 and moved to Cape Cod, MA to be near the ocean, where they were members of the Hyannis Yacht Club. She moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2000 to be near her daughter and where she was a member of Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and volunteer work at the President John F. Kennedy Museum in Hyannis, MA. She is survived by a son, Keith Ross of Omaha, NE; a daughter, Robyn Ross of Albuquerque, NM; and two grandsons, Stephen Ross of Omaha, NE and Christopher Ross of Indianapolis, IN; her cousins; and many friends. Visiting hours will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, West Side Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, West Side Chapel. Burial will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery.
