SCOVIL -- Bonde Avis Scovil - Born Bonde Avis Mauldin, (married names; Stein then Scovil), (Mom), left our world early Monday, January 25, 2010 due to complications of a heart attack. Leaving all those who knew her with memories that will last lifetimes. Bonde was born March 25, 1932 to Lennox Luke Mauldin and Della Maye Reed in Albuquerque NM. There she raised and watched over her seven children Charles (Chuck), John, Carl (Vic), Chris, James, Avis & Matt . In 1973, Bonde moved to Battle Mtn., Nevada where she finished raising her three youngest children among a myriad of extended family and friends who lived in the Central Nevada desert. Mom said many times that her life began when she moved to Nevada. Her new surroundings inspired her creativity, her sense of adventure and the romantic inside her. In 1977 Bonde married Paul Scovil, the man she donned her "Love of Loves". During the next 15 years Bonde lived an adventuress lifestyle. Bonde spread her wings and literally flew off (obtaining her pilot's license in 1982) to secluded destinations where she sailed, skied, hiked and explored. Those years Mom said, "Were a lifetime of happiness". Later in life, Bonde delved deep into her creative talents and painted many fascinating works of art, each of which contain a piece of her life's experiences mixed with her fanciful and ingenious imagination. Mom also loved literature and was never without a novel to read. She has written stories and poetry which she has shared with her children and grandchildren, forever enriching their lives. Bonde now joins her Father Luke, Mother Della, sister Mavis, brothers Son, Darvin, Tom and Jerry Don who have preceded her. She leaves behind her youngest brother Monty (Bud), 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren along with countless cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends
