LEE -- Brian Daniel Lee, 29, passed away on December 31, 2009, in Albuquerque, NM. Brian was born on August 5, 1980, in Pasadena, California. He came to Albuquerque as an infant, where he grew up and lived for the rest of his life. Brian was a talented musician and artist, winning several state-wide piano competitions while in mid school and high school. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; being together at holidays, coming to barbecues, laughing at jokes, watching football games with his dad, going on fishing trips, break dancing, playing and listening to music. From an early age, Brian communicated prolifically to those he loved through gifts of art. He had a kind heart, a sweet disposition, and a helping hand for anyone in need. Brian often found life difficult; he was courageous and determined in battling inner demons and overcoming severe obstacles. That he did not succeed in the end does not diminish the nobility of his struggle. Brian is survived by his parents, James R. Lee and Kathleen M. Lee of Albuquerque; his sister Carolyn M. Fresquez and her husband Fernando Fresquez, currently residing in Edinburgh, Scotland; his sister Alexandra C. Lee, of San Francisco, CA; and his grandmother Dorothy L. Lee, of St. George, UT. Brian also is remembered by his girlfriend Adrienne Grimmer and her three children, Caitlyn, Kyle, and William, who knew him as Siren; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many, many friends. Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Donations in Brian's memory to Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, 1217 1st Street NW, 87102 or the Albuquerque Rescue Mission, PO Box 331, 87103 would be cherished. In this holiday season, our hearts go out to others in the community who are struggling with the loss of a loved one. Brian's family and friends were blessed to have shared his life. We love him and miss him and will remember him always. May God rest his soul.
