HUGHES -- Joel Alan Hughes went to heaven with Jesus on December 13, 2009. He is survived by his best friend and wife of twelve years, Willie Faye Hughes; daughters, Barbara Evans and husband, David; Beth Cherry and husband, John, Brenda Bennett and husband, Tom; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Carol Schemm and husband, Ben of Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 38 years Mary L. Hughes. Joel was a loving father and devoted husband who believed in God and had a keen sense of humor. He enjoyed wood working, camping and spending time with his best friend, Doug Warwick. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2009 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at French University Location. Services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Los Chavez, 09 Los Chavez Park, Los Chavez, NM 87002.
