STARK -- Dwight V. Stark, born in Duluth, MN on June 5, 1916, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at his residence. He honorably served in the US Army during WWII. Dwight attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois; the School of Art Studies in New York, as well as several other Art Schools. Dwight worked as an animation artist for Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. He was a well-known professional portrait artist, sculptor and fine artist. During WWII, he painted five oil portraits of Lord Louis Mountbatten, which are currently on display in museums in England and Singapore. Dwight is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Marilyn Stark of Rio Rancho, NM; his three children, Sandra L. Stark and family of Los Angeles, CA, David L. Stark and family of Stockton, CA; Frances Ferguson and husband, James, of Rio Rancho, NM; two grandchildren, Jessica and Rachel; as well as several other family members and friends who loved him and will miss him. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST.
