JEFFREY -- Susan Stockard Jeffrey, age 82, peacefully died on November 23, 2009 in Albuquerque. She was born on June 30, 1927 in Cisco, TX to Leroy V and Opal M (Tomlinson) Stockard. Sue was an avid reader and bridge player and participated in many clubs over the years. Sue also enjoyed extensive travel with family and friends and was a member of the Sandia Roadrunner and NM Bounder RV groups. Sue was an elementary school teacher for 28 years and a member of the Albuquerque Association of Educational Retirees and the New Mexico Association of Educational Retirees. Sue was a member of Sanado Women's Club, Bear Canyon Senior Citizens Center, and La Mesa Presbyterian Church-women's circle. Sue treasured her family and friends. She will be missed deeply by all who loved her. Sue is survived by children, Laura Jeffrey of Albuquerque, NM, Kimberly Shirley of Concord, CA, Pamela Welschmeyer and husband Ted of Mesa, AZ, Kathleen Flagstead and husband James of Concord, CA, and Michael Jeffrey and wife Jody of Antioch, CA. Sue is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Sue is preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, and three sisters Jeannine Sawyer, Virginia Powell, and Beverly McFadden. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church with Pastor Trey Hammond.
