BEDWELL -- Wanda L. Bedwell, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 22, 2009. Wanda was born in Sturdivant, Missouri on April 28, 1922 to Eugene and Mary Walker who, along with five brothers and two sisters, preceded her in death. Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, William Bedwell; one sister, Mary Lou Kinder and one brother, Cloyd Walker; two daughters Sondra Degenhart and husband Howard of Dalhart, TX and Sheila Thompson and husband Kenneth of Tatum, NM; four grandchildren: Jeff Degenhart, Shannon Degenhart, Jeremy Thompson, and Joel Thompson; and seven great-grandchildren. Wanda was a faithful Christian worker for the Lord in the Church of Christ at Netherwood Park for 54 years. She passed away as peacefully as she lived her life. She was a full-time homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She has numerous family members and friends who loved and will miss her dearly. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be Wednesday, November 25, 2009, 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of Wanda's family and friends who were so caring and thoughtful. A very special thank you is extended to the members of our Netherwood Park church family for their support in our time of need, and to both the Presbyterian nurses in the Intermediate Care Unit at Presbyterian Hospital and the Presbyterian Hospice Unit at Anna Kaseman for the wonderful care they gave her.
