JENKINS -- Ryan Michael Jenkins. The world lost a bit of its humor today; its colors dimmed and moved forever to a lighter shade of gray. Ryan Jenkins, beloved son, brother, friend and poet left us; and for a moment the music stopped. But the music never stopped for Ryan, it was a part of him as was his huge smile and endless sense of humor. Kindness came as naturally to Ryan as water flows down a mountain stream; the first to offer a hand to Mom or Brent, or a broke and busted friend, or a random stray down to their last he happened upon. Ryan's heart knew no limits and never contemplated judgment or prejudices. An advocate, friend, volunteer and member of the Special Olympics, Ryan's big heart knew no boundaries or limits; and God could he smile with the best of them. So many, many of us will miss Ryan and all of the wild color, endless kindness and positive glow he could provide in even the most tragic situation. That was Ryan, a rock standing strong and grinning through a hurricane. Now we grab that smile, that huge teddy bear spirit and hold it close to our chests. Ryan will never leave us. His smile, humor and beat, a reminder of the happiness and joy life holds even through tragedy. Until we all meet again, Ryan, we love you. Ryan was born in Albuquerque on June 5, 1977, and is survived, loved and remembered by parents Donna, and the late Robert Duke, and Doug and Linda Jenkins; brothers Brent, Kyle and his son Pele Jenkins, Marc, Jason and Greg Shafer; and Peter and Robert Duke; his grandfather, Harry Jenkins; aunt Vicky Yakus and family, aunt Susie Howard and family; cousins Angelo, Natalie, Ava, Annie, Rob and Allison, special friends Jeremy Manzer, Jason Vosburg and Scott Dante in addition to so many, many more of us that Ryan touched in his time on this earth.
