FREEDMAN -- Richard Alan Freedman, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on April 8, 2009 following a brief illness. Born March 14, 1948, Richard graduated from Highland High School in 1966, and attended the University of New Mexico where he earned his Bachelor's degree in 1971. Richard was a lifelong student who loved to read and learn new subjects. He particularly enjoyed science, mathematics and history. Richard was a dedicated supporter of the public libraries. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Harold L. Freedman; and by his beloved mother, Gladys H. Freedman. Cremation has taken place and was performed by Direct Funeral Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Richard's ashes are placed adjacent to his mother's at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
