JUCKETT -- Daniel Howard Juckett, 97, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Oct 23, 2009. Daniel was born December 8, 1911 in Fremont, Nebraska and moved to New Mexico in 1932. In his early Christian life he was a member of Alameda Community Chapel, where he was a deacon. He entertained the congregation with trumpet solos or with his beautiful bass voice. He was currently member of New Song Christian Fellowship. In 1932 he and Sue Whitely married in Bernalillo, NM and in 1939 they moved to Corrales where Daniel resided until his death. He is survived by children Samuel H. Juckett and his wife Della of Albuquerque, NM, Mrs. Celestine "Tiny" Brown of Albuquerque, NM, Daniel "Bud" Juckette and wife Jeanine "JJ" of Corrales, NM; six grandchildren, Debbie Coburn (Rick) of Albuquerque, NM, Tim Juckette (Leta) of Lutz, FL, David Brown (Shawna), of Corrales, NM, Nikki Carey of Albuquerque, NM, Brandwyn Stebbens of Hawaii, Eowyn Simons (Aiden), of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by many great and great-great-grandchildren whom he adored. He is also survived by step-brothers Conrad Larsen of Huntington Beach, California, Norman Larsen (Marion) of Virginia Beach, VA, Ernest Larsen of Des Moines, IA; sisters-in-law, Jean Juckett of Apopka, FL, Trent Andrews and Millie Gentry of Martinez, California, and many nieces and nephews whom all loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, father, step-father, one brother and two sisters. Daniel was a professional trumpet and coronet player in his early career. He played with many of the known BIG bands. He was employed by the US Government at Kirtland AFB during WWII. After the war he worked for Cutter Carr Aviation until moving to Sandia Base, retiring from Sandia in 1971. He worked on his farm, hunted, fished and truly enjoyed his love for the outdoors. He belonged to the Rio Rancho fishing club and tried to attend every outing they put together. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 10:00 AM at New Song Christian Fellowship, 6013 Paradise Blvd. NW (505-898-4508). Burial follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
