CLIFFORD -- Jack McCabe Clifford, 95, born in Columbus, OH on March 28, 1914, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 12, 2009. He had tenacity for life and was a source of joy and inspiration to those who knew him. Jack attended The Ohio State University and considered himself a lifelong Buckeye. Following college, Jack served in the Pacific during World War II with the U.S. Army. After the war, Jack married Amelia Zalnoski, and lived in Columbus, OH before moving in 1950 to Albuquerque, NM where he had a long career in real estate development. Jack was extremely active until the last week of his life and continued to work, exercise, and read avidly on a regular basis. He possessed extraordinary will power, a witty sense of humor, and a consistently positive outlook. Jack was a devout Catholic and a committed family man. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Z. Clifford. Survivors include son, Jack J. Clifford; grandchildren, Lisa Marie Clifford, Sean David Clifford and wife, Meredith; and siblings, Dorothy Kelly, Mary Armstrong, Bill Clifford and wife, Janet. Rosary will be recited Thursday, October 15, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 16, 2009, 11:00 a.m., at Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd NE (located on UNM campus).
