NEWELL -- Patricia M. Newell, 81, a long time resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 6, 2009. She is survived by her nine children: Joan Sheyka of Albuquerque; Patrick Newell of Albuquerque; Frank Newell of Carnuel; Bill and wife, Sue of Oceanport, NJ; Dorothy Newell of Corrales; Kathy Nagel and husband, Rod of Albuquerque; John Newell and wife, Lisa of Albuquerque; Fred Newell of Carnuel; and Pete and wife, Vebeke of Evergreen, CO; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister Dorothy Comorski and husband, Pete of E. Rockwood, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her sister Lavergne, and her brothers, Father Bill and Jack. While raising her children, Patricia completed her Bachelor's degree at the University of Albuquerque and her Master's degree at the University of New Mexico. She worked for the New Mexico Department of Labor as an administrative law judge, from which she retired in 1989. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 10, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 11, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven with Father Johnny Lee Chavez, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM, at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Patrick Newell, Frank Newell, Bill Newell, John Newell, Fred Newell, and Pete Newell. The family will receive visitors at 6:30 p.m. at the Church prior to the Rosary. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Cuidando los Nios, P. O.
