STEWART -- Sandi Stewart, 48, of Rio Rancho, NM went home to our Lord on August 1, 2009. Sandi was born on September 22, 1960 in Atlanta, GA as the daughter of an Army major and a nurse and moved often as a child until her father's retirement when she was 14. Sandi attended high school in El Paso, TX and college at UTEP and WTSU. After college, she married and gave birth to two children and lived in various cities throughout Texas. Sandi and her children moved to Rio Rancho in 1987 to be closer to her parents where she concentrated on being a single mother. Her first priority was always family. Her children were her greatest joys as all who knew her would attest to. Sandi also enjoyed working in her yard growing flowers, a love she inherited from her father and grandmother. Sandi is survived by her two sons, Robert Crooks and wife Nicole and Matthew Crooks; her parents David and Linda Stewart all of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers, Robert Stewart of Lancaster, TX and John Stewart and family of Amarillo, TX; and all her extended family that she deeply loved at Don Chalmers Ford where she worked and touched many lives. Sandi was a good daughter, a wonderful mother and best friend who will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Sagebrush Community Church , 6440 Coors Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111 in Sandi's honor.
