MONTOYA -- Emilio F. Montoya, 75, passed away June 13th, 2009. He was preceded in death by his mother Clorinda L. Vigil, step-father Tomas Vigil, and brother Rudy Montoya. He is survived by brothers Thomas Montoya, Gene Montoya, and Joseph Montoya; his wife Elizabeth and their children Eileen, Rick, Lisa, John, Pamela, and Linda, seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Born in Mora, NM, Emilio resided in Albuquerque since 1956. He took immense pride and joy working at the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, and the Bureau of Land Management, where he retired as a cartographic technician in 1994. Emilio loved nature, enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and had an infectious sense of humor. But his most endearing quality was the love for his family, which he showed by being there for all our milestones and the lasting impression and influence he left on all of us. Memorial Services will be held at the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque, 3701 Carlisle NE, on June 27th at 3:30pm. Reception will follow. No matter where we are, we are always together.
