BERRY -- Daniel O'Connell Berry, age 44, on May 23, 2009 the angels came and took him to heaven. Daniel was born in Albuquerque on April 26, 1965 to Patrick and Connie Berry. First and foremost, Daniel's priority in life was his daughter Ashley. He dedicated his life to her health and happiness. Dan's heart was as big as he was. He was a very kind and generous person who often went out of his way to help anyone who needed it. It did not matter if it was family, friends or someone he did not know. Daniel graduated from Los Lunas High School in 1983, where he was a star basketball player. He attended New Mexico Highlands University on a basketball scholarship and graduated with honors in 1988. Daniel was employed by the USDA Forest Service. Daniel greatly enjoyed working for the Forest Service and appreciated the opportunity to work with the many wonderful people there. Daniel is survived by his daughter, Ashley Berry of Albuquerque; parents Patrick and Connie Berry of Los Lunas, NM; sisters, Barbara Saupe of Belen, NM, Margaret Berry of Los Lunas, NM, Jeanette Wilson and husband, Sam Wilson of T or C, NM; brother Patrick Berry Jr. and wife, Julie Wilber of San Francisco, CA; nieces, Trista Saupe of Belen, NM, Madison Wilson of T or C, NM; nephews Karl Saupe of Albuquerque, Jordan Berry of San Francisco, CA; uncles, Bob Guest and Dale Guest of Maywood, NE and many close friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life City Church 4830 Pan American Freeway NE, Albuquerque with Father Joachim officiating.
