CHAPLIN -- John W. Chaplin, 58, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009. He is survived by his four children, Genevieve Chaplin, Rachel Chaplin and husband, Jonathan McCann, Elizabeth Chaplin and John Chaplin, all of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Jonathan McCann, Jr., Christopher McCann and Salomon Matthies, all of Albuquerque; one sister, Julie Rhodes and husband, Jesse of Albuquerque; one brother, Terry Hammond of England; two nieces, Renee' Douglas and husband Brian, and Gayle Renshaw, all of Albuquerque; and three great-nieces, Meghan and Brooke Renshaw and Taylor McDermott of Albuquerque. John was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Ray Ventura; sister, Deborah Boyer; brother, Francis Hammond; and his niece, Lisa Rhodes McDermott. He was born in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England on June 3, 1950. John became a US citizen in 1990. He served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. John was a very devoted employee of UPS for over 30 years. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. John was a loving father and friend. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Desert Springs Church, 705 Osuna Rd NE. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
