MARTINEZ -- Ruben G. Martinez, 67, passed away February 8, 2009. He was born in Anton Chico, NM on March 17, 1941 to Jose A.C. (Charlie) and Rita Martinez. After his mother's death in 1943, he was raised by his grandmother, Marina S. Nelson in Anton Chico, NM. He graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1960. He has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1960. He was an electrician and retired from Lovelace. He also had his own company Venture Electric. His greatest accomplishment was that his sons learned the electrical trade and became electricians. He is survived by his wife, Maria (Maggie) Martinez; three sons, Michael and Juanita Martinez from Santa Fe, NM, Jeffrey and Cathy Martinez from Florence, CO, and Richard and Melissa Martinez from Ranchos de Taos, NM; five grandchildren, Sgt. Michael Martinez, CWZ Joshua Martinez, Derrick Martinez, Regeena Martinez and Leo Martinez; one great-grandchild, Joaquin Martinez. He is also survived by two brothers, Cresencio and Lydia Martinez of Albuquerque and Flavio and Delores Martinez from Rush City, MN; uncle, Joe Martinez, and aunt Margie Baca of Albuquerque, NM; his mother-in-law, Socorro G. Sena of Albuquerque; the Gonzales Family from Anton Chico; in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members; and a host of friends. A Rosary for Mr. Martinez will be recited on Tuesday evening, February 10, 2009 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW, at 7:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM at 10:00 a.m. Reception will follow in Anton Chico, NM. Pallbearers will be Fred Gonzales, Essel Baca, Joshua Martinez, Leo Martinez, Albert Martinez and Regeena Martinez.
