SORROCHE -- Joseph J. Sorroche, resident of Albuquerque, NM, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family at his bedside. Joe was born in Throop, PA, but lived most of his life in Albuquerque, NM. Joe was a devout Christian, loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, and an inspiration to his family and all who knew him. His smile lit up a room when he was there, and, whoever met him was enamored with his charisma and personality. He had many names that he lived up to with great honor and pride: dad, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, grandfather, but most of all, husband to his devoted wife, Celina. Joe was a USAF veteran and retired from the FAA. They had just celebrated 55 years of marriage on January 2, 2009. His life pleasures included dancing, camping at Vallecito Lake with his family, skiing, movies, music, and a great meal! Joe and Celina have been members of St. Vincent DePaul for several years, and are active members of Risen Savior Catholic Community. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Sorroche and his mother Theresa Pagnotta. He is survived by his loving wife, Celina; five children and ten grandchildren; John and wife Sopida, John Jr. and Andrew; Jeff; Joe, Jr., and wife Jana, Kathryn and Michael; Jack and wife Patti, Leah, Joanna, David (U.S. Army) and Tabitha (USAF); and daughter Sandra and husband Ron, Marissa and Lyman Ronald (Little Ronnie) Pattison. He is also survived by two sisters, Amelia Galleta and Dolores Stolfi, both of New Jersey. Joe's family thanks all those who touched his life and who were a part of it. We can truly say that he treasured every moment with his family and friends to the fullest. If you had the privilege to know him, you knew that he loved life very much. He will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 3rd at 7:00 p.m. and with Mass celebrating his life at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Services have been entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505) 821-0010
