CHAVEZ -- Pete H. Chavez. The Lord prepared a place for Pete H. Chavez on January 30, 2009 as he slept peacefully. Pete was born January 28, 1918, he lived a full life with his five children, Pete Chavez of Missouri, Nancy and husband Jerry Palladino of Albuquerque, NM, Minnie and husband Forrest Mims of Seguin, TX, Manuel Chavez of Santa Fe, NM and Jimmy Chavez of Pojoaque, NM. Pete was born in Hondo, NM and is preceded in death by parents, Tonita and Esequiel Chavez; brothers, Serafino Chavez, Esequiel Chavez, and sister Viola Chavez. He served as a guard in the Citizens Conservation Corp during the war and was a cement finisher by trade. He had been retired for over 30 years. Pete was a Dad, a Grandpa, a Great-Grandpa, a Great-Great-Grandpa, and friend to all. He was loved by his five children; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and his many family members. He spent his last days at Camino Assisted Living in Albuquerque where his extended family loved and cared for him unconditionally and for which his family is eternally grateful. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at First Spanish/Fruit Avenue Baptist Church, at 812 Fruit Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, your kind donations to Camino Assisted Living, 12101 Lomas Blvd NE. Albuquerque, NM 87112, in Pete H. Chavez' name would be appreciated.
