TIMMONS -- Lily Gottlieb, 89, passed away January 28, 2009. Lily was born in Alsenz, Germany, on March 30, 1919. She immigrated with her family in 1938. She loved living in New Mexico and the Sandia Mountains. Lily retired as Executive Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Society after 26 years, she served many terms as president of the Edelweiss German American Club, was active with Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Delta Chapter and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was proceeded in death by her husband Herman "Tim". Lily is survived by daughters, Denise Bachis, husband Nick, Stephanie May (granddaughter, who was like a daughter), husband Tim, Diane Lovato, husband Ernie; brother Hans Gottlieb, wife Joanne; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 Gold Ave. SE with Pastor Randy Walquist officiating. Donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
