MONTAGUE-IZARD -- Helen Inez Montague-Izard, 79, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, January 26, 2009, in Albuquerque. Born in Plainview, TX to Eddie and Vivian Montague, Helen grew up in the Plainview, TX and Coffeyville, KS areas. After high school, she moved to Albuquerque in the late 1940's where she worked as a switchboard operator. Helen moved on to Los Angeles in the 1950's where she worked as an Office Manager in a law firm. She married the late Jay Hudnall and had two daughters, Penelope and Wesley. In the late 1970's, she moved to the San Francisco Bay area, but eventually returned to Albuquerque in 1991. Shortly thereafter, she met Lew Izard , and they were married in 1999. Helen was an avid golfer, and a member of the Woodland Hills Women's Golf Association, and later the Four Hills Women's Golf Association. Helen was very outgoing, made friends wherever she went, and loved dancing. She also loved to travel, especially to California to see her grandson, Wyatt. Helen is survived by her husband Lew Izard; daughter Wesley Hudnall and her husband Christopher Dean; grandson Wyatt Dean; brothers Bob and Tom Montague, and sister Susan Smith; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who live throughout the Coffeyville, KS and Portales, NM areas. Helen was predeceased by her daughter Penelope on January 5, 2009. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of Helen's life will be held at a later date.
