WEBER -- Matthew Gail Weber, 51, was born May 25, 1957 and went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ, November 18, 2008. Matt grew to love athletics, spending untold hours playing sandlot football, basketball, and baseball. He eventually joined YAFL, and went on to play football for McKinley JH and Del Norte HS. He graduated from Del Norte in 1975 and attended Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute (currently CNM). He was proud to serve his country by joining the NM Air National Guard, serving four years as an Avionics Technician. Afterward, he joined the US Navy for four years as a computer technician for submarine simulators at the Fleet Antisubmarine Warfare Center based at Norfolk. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, Matt returned to New Mexico and was hired by Plains Electric as a computer tech. Matt worked hard for many years at Plains and enjoyed all that he did to help the people of the NM Rural Electric Coop with electrical power generation and transmission. After he became disabled by MS and acting on the advise of his doctors Matt became a regular at Gold's Gym and Defined Fitness in an attempt to strengthen his body for the many battles he would face in his fight against MS. He faced his many physical challenges with great determination, patience, and courage. In his last months, he endured the indignities and suffering of impending death with grace that glorified his Lord. These were his finest hours. Matt's eulogy will be presented by his sister, Robin Chall, and the service will be officiated jointly by Matt's identical twin brother, the Rev. Michael Weber, and Pastor (Dr.) John Adams of Mountain View Fellowship Baptist Church. Matt was preceded in death by his parents Robert C. Weber and Fredericka Juhasz. Other survivors include, brother-in-law Rob Chall; sister-in-law Kathy Weber; and his younger brother Robert Weber; stepfather John Juhasz (Wanda), all of Albuquerque. Surviving nieces and nephews include Cindy Silva (Ben), Charles Weber, Christopher Chall (Stephanie), Melissa Bentley (Dustin), Paul Weber plus four great-nieces and one great-nephew.
