SENTER -- Albert C. Senter, Jr. passed away at home on Thursday, November 13, 2008 after a long illness. Al was born September 20, 1954 in Albuquerque, the son of Anne Hoffmann Senter and Albert C. Senter, Sr. He attended Montezuma Elementary, Jefferson Junior High and Highland High, and graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in History. He worked in the family business, Al Senter's New Mexico Television, eventually taking over operation following his parents' deaths. During college, Al and his best friend Tim Doyle spent summers helping Al Sr. build a log cabin in the Manzanos. All three remembered these days fondly, and while they all loved the cabin, all three said that the building of it was the best part. Al loved the mountains and lived in the cabin for years following its completion. He is survived by his sister Gretchen Obenauf and husband Tom of Albuquerque; nephew Richard Obenauf and wife Sarah of Chicago; niece Elisabeth Obenauf and fiance David Odegard of Albuquerque; aunt Frances Hoffmann Stevens of Ukiah, CA; uncle Carl R. Hoffmann, Jr. of Boise, ID; and cousins Willette Senter and Andrea Senter Ellis of Albuquerque, Cedric Senter, Jr. of Houston, Carl Hoffmann III and Charles, Elizabeth, James and Richard Stevens, all of California. He is also survived by his best friend and "brother," Tim Doyle and wife Leslie, and their sons Patrick and Brian of Tucson. In addition, he leaves Ty, the last in a long line of Senter German Shepherds. A Memorial Service will be held at the cabin in the spring.
