ALFORD -- Virginia M. Alford, 98, a resident of Albuquerque since 1988, died Friday, November 7, 2008. She is survived by her two nephews and spouse, one niece and spouse, ten great-grand nieces, nephews and spouses and 13 great, great-grand nieces and nephews. Virginia was born September 29, 1910 and raised in Brooklyn, NY and Sayville, Long Island. In the 1940's she relocated to Oahu, HI then on to San Antonio, TX; Scottsdale, AZ and finally residing in Albuquerque. She was an accomplished oil painter that appreciated all the beauty that surrounded her. Virginia was truly a bright light with a twinkle in her eye for everyone who knew her. She will be buried in Brooklyn, NY with her mother, father and three sisters. We will all miss her dearly. Catholic Memorial Services will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22, 2008, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption, corner of Lomas and Tennessee NE.
