MCANDREW -- James Francis McAndrew, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at his home. He was born in Carbondale, PA to Walter Thomas McAndrew and Helen Rose Kirkwood. He graduated from Ben Franklin High School, Carbondale in 1949. He served in the United States Air Force, as Airman First Class from 1951 to 1955. Before retiring in 1989, he was employed by Qwest (Mountain Bell) as a pay phone installer/repairman. While stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base, James met Patricia Ann Lusk, daughter of Benjamin Lusk and Bula Alexander. James and Patricia were married in July 1954 at St. Anne's Catholic Church of Albuquerque, and had one daughter and two sons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia in May 1992; and his brother, William in April 1992. He is survived by his daughter, Mary McAndrew; two sons, James Frank McAndrew and wife, Katherine (Kitty) and William McAndrew, all of Albuquerque; One brother Walter McAndrew and wife Gloria of Jacksonville, FL.; brother-in-law Louie Lusk of Albuquerque; two sisters-in-law Peggy Napoleone of Albuquerque and Cora Manning and husband Wayne of Silver City, NM and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday October 29, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., in Palm Chapel of the Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave SE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel Thursday October 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, The American Lung Association or The American Diabetes Association.
