CARLYLE -- Bro. Michael Carlyle, 71, in the fiftieth year of his religious life as a Little Brother of the Good Shepherd died on September 26, 2008 at Villa Mathias. Bro. Michael spent many years in administrative capacities caring for developmentally disabled men. Bro. Michael was also an accomplished organist, choir director and music composer. After suffering a debilitating stroke Bro. Michael served as a volunteer at the former St. Joseph's Hospital for several years. He is survived by his brother David, sister- in-law, Joan, two nephews, John Paul and Simon Carlyle, grand-niece, Meredith Mumper and the members of his religious community. Visitation will be on Monday, September 29, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at Villa Mathias, 901 Bro. Mathias Pl. NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Villa Mathias. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the crypt at Villa Mathias at a later date.
