ZINN -- Edgar Sidney Zinn, born February 15, 1924, in Gardner, NM, passed away peacefully in his home on September 17, 2008. Edgar was a lifetime resident of New Mexico. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Karen; two daughters, Monique and partner Ty Nash; Simone and husband Tappan Mahoney. Two sons, Malcolm L. and wife Dena; Edgar S. Zinn, II. Sister Evelyn Cromwell and family; and brother Gerald B. Marshall, and family. He was a World War II, US Navy veteran. He served seven years on two battle ships, the USS North Hampton and the USS IOWA. He was the pioneer in the baking industry. Founder and owner of Zinn's Bakery, he was a master baker for 54 years, an innovator of fine European pastries and crusty breads. Retired at the age of 80, he was loved by many. His gifts of storytelling, humor, and life wisdom will be greatly missed. As he requested, a Celebration will be held at the family home, on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Please call family for information. A Private Family Burial will be held at a later date. As Ed always said, "He was born married and went to work in a bakery. Not too shabby!"
