GUTHRIE -- Cozette Guthrie, age 94, a resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born on November 29, 1913 in Prague, OK, the daughter of Elva and Florence Irick. She was a member of New Covenant Church for many years. She was an elementary school teacher, retiring after 30 years of service at Yucca Elementary School. Cozette had received the distinguished award of being named Teacher of the Year during her tenure. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Hopson and her husband, John of Albuquerque; her grandson, Daniel Reyes of Holland, MI; her sister, Doris Jackson of Laguna Hills, CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, David Reyes on October 25, 1998. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 15, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel.
