RICH -- Irene Rich, age 78, of Rio Rancho, joined her husband in Heaven with the Lord, Wednesday, September 3, 2008. She was loved and known to many as "Baba", which means Grandma. She lived her life for her family, friends, and her church. Baba was "Dear Abby" to many, and always placed others needs in front of her own. Her death creates an emptiness in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her, including her companion, Sinbad. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Ann Barteau and husband Richard, Mary Ann Rich, and Amelia Juarez; sisters, Mary and Margie Terepan; grandchildren, Kevin and Kimberly Barteau. Irene was preceded in death by the only man in her life, her husband, Melvin Rich. A Parastas (Prayer Service) will be held Friday, September 5, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Divine Liturgy (Funeral Mass) will be celebrated Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, followed by a lunch. The family will be receiving friends at the church Friday, from 5:30 p.m. until the Parastas begins.
