HICKOX -- Lillian Wiles Hickox, 98, a resident of Albuquerque for the past seven years, died, Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Lillian, or Lilli Ann as she was known by friends and family, was born Saturday, November 13, 1909 in Avalon, Texas. She grew up on a farm near Avalon, graduated from Avalon High School, and was the last surviving member of a family of fourteen. Prior to moving to Albuquerque in 2001, she resided for more than sixty years in Yoakum, TX. In Yoakum, she was active in the First Baptist Church where she served as pianist and organist for many years. She enjoyed teaching piano and instructed many beginning piano students. After moving to Albuquerque, she resided at Bear Canyon Estates until a recent move in June to Bee Hive Homes. While at Bear Canyon Estates, she participated in many activities and served as organist for chapel services for a period of several years. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Charles E. "Hick" Hickox. She is survived by son, Robert E. Hickox of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Ann E. Hickox of Cambridge, MA; son, Charles E. Hickox, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Maxine C. Hickox; and grandson, John R. Hickox all of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Jennifer A. Biedscheid and husband, Bryan P. Biedscheid; and great-granddaughter, Olive H. Biedscheid all of Santa Fe, NM; plus numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in Myrtle Cemetery, Ennis, Texas, Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
