DYER -- Robert H. Dyer, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, age 64, was called to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2008, in Albuquerque, NM. He was born to Robert and Merilyn Dyer on November 24, 1943. Robert was a Mechanical Designer for several Engineering firms in Houston, TX and Albuquerque, working most recently with M&E Engineering, Inc. Bob was a man of strong character and work ethic and lived to help his family. He served his country proudly for the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Bob was full of pride for his son as he currently serves in the United States Marine Corps. He was so well known for his humor and practical jokes. Bob wrote non-fiction books of the Old West and had articles published in The Tombstone Epitaph. Other writings included his Black Horse Western Novels. His hobbies included fishing, reading, love of the outdoors and he was a gifted musician. Bob is a member of St. Johns United Methodist for over 20 years. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kathy, their children; Julie Geldmacher and husband, Clifton, Kimberly Jones and husband, Tim, and son, Wes Dyer and wife, Chastity; five grandchildren, Tyler, Connor, Dylan, Ashlyn and Genesis, who Bob loved, cherished and spoiled very much and they will never forget him. Bob is survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Katherine Walton, whom he lovingly cared for. Bob will be loved, will be greatly missed and will be held so close in the hearts of those who knew him. We love you, PAPAW, and we will see you again!! Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
