ROOP -- Virginia (Ginny) Roop died August 3, 2008. Her love and compassion for others was unequaled. She never met a person she did not like; she just liked some people more than others. Her goals in life were simple: help others in need and help people achieve their goals in any way she could. She is survived by four daughters, Laurie Roop, Cindy Roop, Bobbi Roop, and Peggy Roop-Cortez; two sons-in-law, Jessie Cortez and Stephen Joyce; a granddaughter, Katie Lyons; two brothers, Russell Wood and Everett Wood; several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Her husband, Don Roop, preceded her in death. Everyone who knew her will miss her very much. She was a great lady. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2008 at the First Congregational Church on the corner of Lomas and Girard at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Habitat for Humanity.
