WILLIAMS -- Dr. Cortez H. Williams, Ph.D., age 70, of Albuquerque, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Albuquerque VA Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1937, in McKeesport, PA to Walter L. and Mabel E. Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Joyce Williams; daughter, Taneka Williams; son, LaMar Williams and his wife, Tosha; granddaughter, Santana; grandson, Christopher; and countless loving friends and students from UNM. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lorraine Williams Lucas and Gwendolyn Williams; and brother, Walter Williams. Special thanks to the Albuquerque VA Medical Center for the great care provided Dr. Williams. The Memorial Service is Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 11:15 a.m., at UNM Alumni Chapel, followed by a reception at the SUB's Lobo A and B rooms at 1 p.m. Mrs. Williams requests, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Dr. Williams Scholarship.
