PAPPAS -- Angeline "Angie" Pappas, 99, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Angeline was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Anthony J. Pappas; and son, Dean Pappas. She is survived by her children, Elaine Arapostathis, Anna Maria Chappell, John Pappas and wife, Becky, and George Pappas; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Pappas; nine grandchildren, Shaun Chappell, Kimberly Chappell, Evan Arapostathis, Mark Arapostathis, Kris Trotman, Toni Brandt, Dean Pappas II, AJ Pappas and Alexia Pappas; great-grandchildren, Ellen Trotman, Tyler Trotman, Grace Brandt, Max Brandt, Eleni Arapostathis, Alexandra Arapostathis, and Arianna Pappas. Angie was born in Sparta, Greece and immigrated to the United States in 1921 and has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1945. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, a founding mother of Philoptochos Society in Chicago, IL in 1930 and a Charter Member in Albuquerque. Angie will always be remembered for her spirit, humor, faith, and love. Her family extends gratitude to her dedicated and loving caregivers, Lula and Patty; her many faithful friends; and the staff at VistaCare Hospice. Trisagion will be held Friday, July 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High St. SE. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
