PADILLA -- Albert C. (Cavra) Padilla, 67, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 27, 2008 surrounded by his loving and adoring family. He was born June 15, 1941 in Lemitar, NM to Charlie B. and Katherine (Abadalla) Padilla. He served in the Army and Army National Guard. He worked as a supervisor for Ponderosa Products of Albuquerque, NM as well as a Public Servant for the City and County of Socorro, NM. Albert was preceded in death by his loving mother; and his younger brother, Kenny T. Padilla. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, beloved son, uncle, brother, brother-in-law as well as godfather and friend to many. He is survived by his beloved wife, June (Denney) Padilla of Socorro; his son, Carl A. Padilla and wife, Billie Jo of Los Lunas, NM; daughter, Tammy A. Benavidez and husband, Lorenzo of San Acacia, NM; grandchildren: Justin and Jordan Padilla; Kendra, Amberli and Lorenzo Jr. Benavidez; great grandchildren: (he fondly called his little terrors) Elijah Jude and Tessa Tamari; father, Charlie B. Padilla and wife, Lora of Socorro; brothers: Roger Padilla and wife, Irene; Rick Padilla and wife, Sally; sister, Patricia Sanchez and husband, Andrew; along with numerous loving nieces and nephews, cousins and godchildren. Albert was a very giving and caring person who would help anyone in need. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Steadman-Hall Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Rosary followed by a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church with Father John C. Daniel as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Lemitar, NM cemetery. Pallbearers are Roger Padilla, Justin Padilla, Jordan Padilla, Ricardo Padilla, Lorenzo Benavidez Jr. and Johnnie Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Ulibarri and Benny (Whitey) Ayala. We will miss you and your kindness and generosity. You were always a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Your generosity, compassion and care for others has completed your journey here on earth. May you rest peacefully in heaven with our Lord and other family members who have preceded you.
