YAGOW -- Erhard (Tex) G. Yagow, 80 a resident of Albuquerque since 1991 passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Tex was born November 3rd, 1927 to Charles and Martha Yagow on the family farm in Altamont, Illinois. He is survived by his wife Rebecca; his sons, Chuck (Jacky) and David Yagow and daughters, Trudy (Fred) Heath and Sherry (Mike) Furrow. 6 Grandchildren: Caitlin and Taylor Yagow Christy Lehman, John Sandwell, Stacie Sovinski, Matt Furrow and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Walter and John (Lillian) Yagow and sisters Hildegard (Vernon) Heichelbech, Evelyn (Jim) Shoemaker and Edith (Richard) Miller. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged as a seamen 2nd class. Tex worked as a freight railroad conductor with the New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail systems for 31 years before retiring in 1989. He was a very loving and generous man who gave freely of his time to his family and faith community, Cross of Hope Lutheran Church. Visitation will held Sunday, May 4th from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd NW. Funeral service will be held Monday, May 5, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church, 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd NW. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Cross of Hope Lutheran Church c/o Sharing More Hope Than Ever, 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.
